Sometimes, it’s refreshing for both you and your readers to see content from guest contributors. Guest blogging is proven to be effective and convenient as a marketing tactic, plus it helps in forming collaborations with other bloggers. It also increases website exposure for all involved–guest bloggers will likely promote their post on your blog to their own audience along with yours.
You can especially shake things up by inviting experts to come in and share their ideas and knowledge! Having influential thinkers pitch in reflects positively on your reputation, and your readers will definitely enjoy the post from another authority. Use guest blogging as an opportunity to build relationships with relevant industry professionals. Relationships are what build businesses, brands, and blogs.
Of course, you don’t have to forge relationships with industry celebrities to make an impact. You just need to utilize the relationships you already have. You hear it all the time, right? Networking is key. Connecting with others builds your community, one person at a time. And this is a great reason to join Blogger Babes and become an active member.

But how do you find and pitch people to guest post for you? Especially if your blog is still young?
Luckily, there are numerous blogging “directories” out there that aim to help find relevant blogging and blogger gigs. Here are two that we’ve researched for you:
- Blogger LinkUp is for you. It’s one of the best sources for guest blogging on the internet today. Listing its guest blogging opportunities by category, it also gives you the ability to list a high-quality blog post that you’ve already created (and for free!). Another nice thing about this site is that it sends emails filled with new guest blogging opportunities three times a week.
- Guestr, on the other hand, is for when you’re looking for guest bloggers. Registration is easy and everything is organized by category.
And, yes–you shouldn’t just be looking for guest bloggers, you should be guest blogging for others, too. This will give you more intimate access to a new audience and help build more credibility. This is called the social proof effect. If you’re seen and acknowledged by other bloggers or respectable sites, you’ll gain an overall social standing throughout your niche.
For example, if you blog about fashion for business-minded women, you can pitch to write a post on Heidi’s blog, The Ambitionista. Writing for her site can be great publicity for you because she has an extremely loyal following. Incidentally… if you’re a service provider with a great skill like graphic design or social media prowess, we’d love for you to guest post on Blogger Babes.
Have you ever guest posted or invited a guest blogger before? How was the experience for yourself and your blog?
